Saigyo's Tomb
at Hirokawa-dera Temple 願わくは 花のしたにて 春死なん そのきさらぎの 望月の頃 "Beneath cherry blooms, under the February full moon - like the Buddha, I would rest." The poet monk Saigyou 西行, 1118-1190, spent the last days of his life in this place.
